BACK STORY:  The Cold War is over, China is rising, Europe is confident, and the world continues to become increasingly linked. It is becoming less likely for war between the major powers, because of the mutually assured prosperity of global economic integration. There is conflict, but also linkages; the multipoloar world of the future will not be one of confrontation and war, and not one of a divisive cold war, but one of a “Hot Peace.”
